Form A Political Party If You’re Popular, Politicians Tell Kanu

The National Chairman of the Independent Democrats, Chief Edozie Madu, has called on the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to form a political party if he ‘ thinks  his movement is popular’.

The Independent Democrats Chairman spoke in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Tuesday, while inaugurating the party’s women league and a 10-man committee of the party in the state ahead of the November 18 governorship election in the state.

Chief Madu’s statement is in reaction to an election boycott warning given by Mr. Kanu to Anambra people for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

The ID leader described IPOB’s threat to disrupt the November 18 poll in Anambra State as empty, adding that “if  Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB thinks  his movement is popular  he should form  a political party where he will have all the powers and legitimacy to participate in elections the way  he thinks.
